Use Old Tights For Headbands
One of the biggest concerns people have for me when I tell them about the Compact is,
“What about headbands!?”
I find it funny that this is the FIRST thing people think of…
I used to go through about a pack of thick black hairbands (aka ponytails, in my house) every six months because I would just lose that many. Now I don’t remember the last time I purchased them because I always put my hairbands around my hairspray can instead of just leaving them wherever they fall.
I also pick them up off the sidewalk occasionally. I don’t think this is gross, but I did it once when Spencer was with and he ripped it from my hands, shot it far, far, away, and announced that I had gone “TOO far.”. What’s your take on this? Vote: Spencer or Kayla K (I would like to add that it was clean and dry and like-new, not the greasy slime ball that Spenc made it out to be. Vote Kayla!)
For elastic headbands, I don’t even buy them. I think they are annoying because by the end of the day they pop off the back of your head anyway. My solution for this has long been to cut tubes from the legs of opaque tights. I cut them into 1″ segments and they roll in on themselves to be about the size in stores.
My version stays in place all day which should not be a concern anyway because I should NOT leave the house looking like this except for a workout!
So if the legs of your fabulous opaque tights have a run, why not make them into headbands? Heck, for the price of tights vs. the price of headbands you could even benefit from buying a new pair of tights just for the headbands.
But you know better than that, right?
