Thrifty Finds at City Wide Garage Sales
A few weeks ago I told you how Spencer re-programmed the computer mouse to accomodate a broken left clicker. Today I was impressed when he found a new mouse for just $.50!
We had a great morning garage saling around the neighborhood. One especially interesting sale was in an old library. In addition to $.50 computer “mice” there were $1 keyboards, $6 sturdy library chairs, a bottle-top kit, a paper cutter, and a band saw. We left with only the mouse but it was fun to look.
One sale had more toys for sale than I owned in my lifetime. The people accepted just $4 for a new-in-the-box rock tumbler and refill kit.
I also found a set of 4 European canning jars for $5 and some jelly jar candles (wedding decor) for $1.
What are your recent thrifty finds?
I got a brand new LL Bean T-shirt tunic length with 3/4 sleeves for $1.50. Funny part is, I was looking for just such a shirt at the mall and it cost a lot more than $1.50!
I picked up an old board game called “Careers” that lists “Uranium Prospector” as a possible field. The laugh alone was worth the 25 cents. I also got two nice pairs of pants for a dollar each.
