This Is Why You Should Buy Classic Sunglasses…
Because you might join the Compact next year and will be caught with bug-eye glasses that really aren’t that fabulous anymore.
I did not expect that joining the Compact would change my lifestyle. I don’t like shopping (except at thrift stores) and I still get to go out to eat and to events. Really, the Compact has changed my lifestyle very little. But it has done BIG things for my wallet.
I have always been fairly thrifty so when I started to have a lot of extra money I was very surprised. I could not figure out what I had bought so much of before the Compact that would leave me with such a surplus this year.
I did not buy so much of anything but rather a lot of nothing. Take these sunglasses, for example. I bought a classic tortoiseshell pair earlier in the season for $25, sat on them and broke them, and bought this pair for $20. That is $45 that will be sitting in my savings this year… just because of sunglasses!
Other things I am sure I would have bought by now…
- Birkenstock “Gizeh” Sandals, $80
- Ironing Board Cover, $15
- Summer dress from Gap/J Crew, etc, $100
- Yarn for a big project, $80
- at least one trip to Borders, $20
This really adds up!
So, that’s my Compact update. Nearly 4 months in and still going strong!
