Samster Mommy is a blog that I just love. She makes the best high-end-inspired jewelry. When I read her stuff I always think, “Hey, I could do that!”
So when a nice lady came into work the other night wearing a beaded crocheted necklace I thought, “Hey, I can do that!” Now I’ve posted the instructions so you can too! Friends tell me “Oh, I can’t crochet. All I can do is make the long chainy-thingy. I can’t turn around.” That’s all you need for this project. A long chain, no need to turn.

You will need:
Black Perle Cotton
Size 12 crochet hook
A beading needle, or regular needle works fine
Assorted glass beads of your choice
Thread the beads onto the spool of thread. You will be pulling the thread you’re crocheting with through all of the beads. Make a slip knot at the end of the thread and chain 8. Move a bead up to your hook, yarn over, and pull thread through loop. (Ch 8, ch around bead) until your necklace is as long as you’d like. I made mine super long so I could triple it. Slip stitch to first ch, tie off. Weave ends in.

See, you can do that.

I loved your necklace. I made one long then divided it into 3 strands and placed a large jewel in the middle. It turned out very nice. Thank you for posting this blog.
Thank you for this lovely pattern. I have lots and lots of beads and getting bored with making baby caps. Will be making one of these tonight.
