Pressure Cooker 365 Recipe #68: Styrofoam Plate Shrinky Dinks
I made shrinky dinks in my pressure cooker today. They were not a smashing success, but they turned out a whole lot better than the fish cakes I attempted!
I used the same technique as when I shrunk my polystyrene cup only this time I used little styrofoam plates colored with permanent markers. I tried a few different shapes to see if it made a difference. Here’s the before:
Aren’t they cute? As you can see they kept their shape very well. The only trouble is that they curled up. I think because they were made with thin paper plates they should have been cooked for fewer minutes than the coffee cup.
I’ll try this again when I can get my hands on something thicker like a recycled meat tray.
On November 17, 2012 I married the love of my life and met a new love: My pressure cooker!
To spread the love I’m using my pressure cooker every day and sharing the recipes on my blog.
