Pressure Cooker 365 Recipe #61: Brats, Peppers, and Potatoes Part 1
We are starting to move this weekend. We will be going little by little because the new place is only a few blocks away. So, despite my recent successes with Rachel Ray recipes, (Pumpkin Risotto and Beer Braised Chicken) I am back to making do with whatever I can find in my pantry. Which is getting more and more difficult.
Tonight’s invention was edible but neither attractive or delicious. I will not post a recipe for it. It needs some refining.
The only thawed meat I had was German brats. I thought I’d try something like my Hobo Breakfast with them. So I sauteed some peppers, onions, and mushrooms, which I seasoned with pepper, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. I placed the brats over the vegetables and piled sliced potatoes over top. I poured 1/2 C water over that and cooked at full pressure for 6 minutes.
I definitely didn’t need the water. The vegetables were soggy. The brats ended up cooking with steam which made them very soft. The texture of it all was just strange.
We ate it and we survived, I’m just not suggesting you do the same.
On November 17, 2012 I married the love of my life and met a new love: My pressure cooker!
To spread the love I’m using my pressure cooker every day and sharing the recipes on my blog.
