Pressure Cooker 365 Recipe #55: Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
Why would someone need to know how to make macaroni and cheese from a box?
First, I am a FCS teacher. I know that some people cannot boil water safely.
Secondly, if you are in such a hurry that you are turning to boxed macaroni and cheese, you could use the speed of a pressure cooker.
With that in mind… Begin by pouring the macaroni (or shells) into the bottom of your pressure cooker. Cover by about an inch with water, being sure that the pot is less than half full. At this point you can add frozen peas or broccoli if you wish.
Lock the lid in place. Cook at full pressure for 3 minutes. Release pressure immediately. Drain the pasta and add the remaining ingredients as directed on the box. I add a can of tuna at this time as well.
Just when you thought dinner couldn’t be any faster than macaroni and cheese from a box.
