Pressure Cooker 365 Recipe #46: Quick Kraut and Sausage
On November 17, 2012 I married the love of my life and met a new love: My pressure cooker!
To spread the love I’m using my pressure cooker every day and sharing the recipes on my blog.
Today my derby team got together donations for the women’s domestic violence shelter in town, so my canned goods took a pretty good hit. I am continuing to clear them out. My next stash to attack is sauerkraut.
After practice fast food looked really appealing. I resisted the urge and headed home to use my pressure cooker. I can’t promise it has less sodium than what I would have ordered from McDonald’s, but it was fast, filling, and very satisfying.
There isn’t even a recipe. I poured a quart of homemade kraut in the bottom of my pressure cooker and laid 5 sausages (Aldi’s Polish sausage… classy, I know, but they sooo hit the spot) over top. Cooked at full pressure for 3 minutes. Served with baked beans.
Nom, nom, nom. Not to be compared with Mom’s kraut or my dad’s homemade sausage, but my tummy is full and happy and I am going to bed. G’night!
