No, I Did NOT Break Compact…
I did not buy these business cards.
But I did pay shipping.
Really, though. Who gets used business cards?
I “bought” 250 business cards and paid only shipping which was about $8, from VistaPrint. I was very impressed! I typed in my information, chose a (super cute) template, and hit “order.” Now, I did have to click through a gazillion screens to say no, I do not want a matching t-shirt, or a rubber stamp, or a mug, or a calender, etc, etc. But in the end, it is true! I paid $8 for 250 business cards. Not that I needed that many, it was just the deal.
But I still “bought” something…
People do the Compact for different reasons. Some people do it as a statement against consumerism, which I partially agree with. In this case, I am breaking Compact by accumulating more junk. Some people do the Compact do reduce waste, which I would be breaking by getting more junk. Some people do the Compact as a way to save money, in which case,
This is a GREAT deal!
Really, I could justify this by my exceptions of school supplies and/or business expense, as these are networking cards for conferences. But this my first potential break and I feel obligated to disclose.
VistaPrint had great service and included a 20% off coupon for my next purchase. This will come in handy later on for Christmas (post)cards, if I actually get around to it this year.
