Guilt-Free Brownie Delicious-ness!
Before I realized that these brownies I made were not only healthy and spectacularly delicious, but also thrifty and therefore blog-able, they were gone. So sorry, no picture.
But you HAVE TO MAKE THEM!
This is a bit of a funny story… I was very excited for my brownies and was bouncing around the classroom offering samples to my classmates when my professor walked in. I skipped on over and offered her a “magical brownie. You’ll never guess what’s in them!”
She did a double-take. My classmates laughed. No, they are not that kind of magical brownies.
Here is what is in my brownies:
- 2 ripe bananas, on sale for $.19/lb
- 1 can of black beans for $.89 (even cheaper if you cooked your own beans)
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup instant oats (or old-fashioned oats chopped in a blender)
Update: A reader pointed out that there are no baking instructions! The brownies should bake in an 8×8″ baking dish at 350 for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. I’m sorry about that!
Tra-la! There is no taste to the black beans but a wonderful texture.
So for some healthy, thrifty, and delicious brownies, try this recipe!
