Looks like a good use for some of those 30-cent almost-expired Yoplaits I found at Meijer the other day. Thanks for posting it!

Crazy ?. Do you cook the oatmeal first?

I think you & Iowa girl have just reinvented muesli. I have heard before that Swiss people prefer it soaked overnight. My BF eats this pretty much every day. We make it with plain yogurt and muesli we mix ourselves (about 2 parts large flake rolled oats and 1 part fruit & nuts). Our favourite dried fruits are raisins, dried cranberries, dates, apricots and recently crystallized ginger if I can find it on sale. Our favourite nuts/seeds are walnuts, pumpkin seeds (aka pepitas), sunflower seeds, almonds. We top it off with maple syrup (we got a case really cheap because we know a guy), sometimes vanilla, and fresh or frozen fruit (thawed blueberries are great in this, mango is also nice).

It is so good and crazy healthy if you don’t use too much sugar.

No cooking! That’s what makes it so wonderful!

That does sound delicious! I have been using the sugared-up yogurt, but my mom has had great success with plain yogurt with fruit for sweetness. I’m going to try my oatmeal your way. Yum!
