Design Wall Monday, 11/21/11
My “design wall” is unfortunately very similar to last week’s.
I continue to build braids for my Texas Braid quilt and am going quite crazy with it. I have put in several hours since last Monday and have only 16 out of 42 squares finished. At this point I believe my time is better spent knitting dishcloths to bribe Mom to finish it.
The crochet is calling, distracting me from quilting.
I am making cowls for my sisters and this is my last one. I knit too, so this crocheted scarf is inspired by my favorite cable braid design. I hope to share this free pattern with you soon.
And I am making yet another “plarn” tote! Plastic bags are like crack for me. I am an advanced crocheter but these basic bags keep me coming back. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have made, like, 25 of these things.
If I am a very good girl and work diligently on my Texas Braid quilt I am allowed to take a break to bind these ladies. The one on top was fussy-cut from all of my white vintage sheets. The other is a Jacob’s Ladder inspired quilt, also from my vintage sheets. It is arranged in a gradient pattern.
I have my conferences comp-day on Wednesday with the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving break. I hope to have new stuff for my design wall next week!
