I met a fantastic person yesterday who I am so excited to tell you about.
I dropped in to our local Benjamin Franklin-esque drugstore to pick up a bulk cone of crochet thread. I overheard a telephone conversation of a woman trying to figure out which crochet hook to purchase. It was obvious that she was a crochet novice and so was the person she was asking for help.
I excused myself for snooping and offered my help. She said she was making a blanket and needed to know what hook to buy. She showed me the yarn she chose. I showed where to look on the label for the suggested hook size.
When I asked her if she had a pattern she said no. She planned on just crocheting back and forth until it was as big as she wanted it. She figured YouTube would show her how.
Here’s the kicker: She is making the afghan to give away!
She said her dad has been going to dialysis in Iowa City and she noticed the patients there were cold. She thought it would be nice to make blankets to keep at the clinic.
- This woman has never crocheted before
- She is giving her very first crochet project away!
This was such an obvious example of God at work in my life. The store did not have the thread, but I think HE gave me what I really needed.
