Canning Homemade Salsa
There is always an adventure to be found at the Kramer house. This morning at about 9:00 Mom decided it was salsa-making day. And so it was!
My mom, sister, and I picked all of the orange and red tomatoes for the last canning hurrah of the season. The drought left fewer tomatoes than other years but there were still plenty to keep us busy all morning.
Mom has a basic ratio for salsa but always ends up “doctoring” it. I left before the final result was determined but know that the “doctoring” included cocktail sauce, hot sauce, and black beans.
I’m sad to leave my parent’s home because I don’t visit often. Next time will be easier because I’ll have salsa to take home.
