Beer and Pizza Knitters
I am constantly losing things at my parent’s house- including knitting projects. Now Mom keeps a scrap bucket and big knitting needles so I just work on a rug whenever I am home.
This time, when I was home for Easter, my little brother mentioned that he would like to try knitting.
I will always take a willing student!
Here is my littlest (but bigger) brother, Karl, knitting away. Of all of the people I have taught to knit, Karl took to it the quickest! He is also very meticulous.
Karl has the best sense of humor. He was cracking jokes the whole time. I pulled found a book called “I Can Knit” and he said, “Hooray! I can too!” I wanted him to have some sort of manual handy for when it came time to purl or cast off.
I pointed out to Karl that he is knitting in the Continental style, so to not follow the English instructions. “Those Brits can keep their tea and crumpets,” he declared, “We are beer and pizza knitters!”
I’m not sure which continent he is referring to, but sounds like a fun one to me!
Also this weekend, my siblings were subjects for my older-little-brother’s-girlfriend’s photo re-staging project.
The original picture was taken on the night we got our new puppy, Jake. Jake is gone now, and Pepper is sitting in for him.
Left to right is Kasjen, Karl, Me, Kelli, and Kalissa.
You can follow Jen’s photography on her Flickr page.
