A Thrifty Facelift
The day my camera craps out is the day Spencer suggests a weekend project- painting our apartment! So sorry… no “before” pictures. And we are not finished yet, but after pictures are on their way!
I did scan in my paint chip…
My apartment has many textures. The pine panelling will be painted “Aspen Gray,” the wall will be painted “Mountain Smoke” and the trim and cinderblock will be painted white. We are following the color scheme at an Abercrombie and Fitch store in Des Moines.
We had a wonderful person helping us out at Lowe’s. I headed straight to the Eddie Bauer signature line but the associate suggested looking at the generic options first for $7 less for each can. He also suggested the best tools for the best price after Spencer and I picked out the priciest ones. It was so nice to have someone actually help at a store, instead of market me stuff!
Another great tip we were offered… check out the discount area. Lowe’s sells miss-mixed gallons of paint for very cheap. You can add color to make it your own.
I am so excited for my apartment’s facelift. A little paint makes a big difference!
Spencer’s mom got a new camera, and her old camera is similar to mine, which hopefully means I can borrow her batteries and show you some “after” pictures by the end of this week!
