I was getting pretty nervous yesterday, fighting the impulse to go out and stock up on everything that I can no longer buy starting today. For example:
- Anything from Borders
- Anything from the Gap
- Enough yarn to make a cabled riding jacket
- New kitchen accessories
But, alas, I am mostly broke. Servers don’t get paid vacation and I took off the three weeks between the fall and spring sememsters. So you can see that I have to stay honest, no stockpiling to get me through the Compact year. I did make one “contraband” purchase.
A lunch bag. For ten dollars.
Wow, I’m getting crazy now!
And, on the last day that I could buy a magazine, I passed up the newest copy of Women’s Health at the checkout.
So, all that said, Happy Compact Year!
May you never run out of craft supplies, may the Goodwills be plentiful, and may the next season of Law and Order SVU be all of the entertainment you need.
A happy and healthy new year to you and yours, from me and mine.

Looking forward to your blogging adventures. I’m hardly shopping new, but don’t know that I could make the one year Compact committment.
So good to hear from you Sandi! Yes, I’m a little nervous about a whole year with no new craft supplies. I know I have plenty to work on, like some Victorian baby booties perhaps?
