Swiss Valley State Park Dubuque County, Iowa

Spencer and I spent the afternoon at our favorite park taking our favorite Tony for a walk.  Well, we tried to walk.  There was a sign asking for walkers to please avoid the ski tracks, which we did our best to do.  Taking pictures became more exciting.

Pictures of Tony and I turned out great, because he loves Spencer behind the camera.  I had a harder time getting his attention.

The plane just added to my lost cause.

Finally a good one! Although far, far away.

Don’t forget your local state parks for inexpensive winter fun.  It may be harder to get around than in the summer, but at least you’ll have a great photo opportunity.

Now Spencer’s off to work at his part time job and I’m headed to my chair with my crochet.  I’m stockpiling snowflakes which make great thoughtful but thrifty gifts for grandmas, roommates, and professors.

Surely you have some white crochet thread in your stash.  How about making some crocheted doilies of your own? Free Crochet Pattern Central is a great resource for patterns to keep your costs down.

Enjoy your weekend!
